Q. How do I stop eavestrough from overflowing?
A. If your eavestrough overflow, either the gutters or downspouts are clogged, or they are too small to handle the volume of runoff. If they’re not stopped install new, larger downspouts first. If that doesn’t solve the problem, have larger gutters installed by a professional gutter installer.
Q. How many times a year do I need to clean my troughs?
A. Plan to clean gutters at least twice a year - more often if the roof is directly beneath trees. Only take on this task yourself if you know you can work safely from a ladder or the roof. If your roof is higher than a single story or you're unsure of your job's safety, you're better off hiring a professional.
Q. What areas do you cover?
A. We cover all areas of Greater Toronto.
Q. Do you provide free estimates?
A. Yes, we will be able to provide you with free estimates.
Q. What is the purpose of gutters?
A. Gutters and downspouts stop water that falls on the roof from pouring down the side of your home and collecting near the foundation. They prevent water from dripping on people in walkways, entrances and driveways.
Q. What is a Soffit?
A. A soffit is a covering between the outer edges of a roof and the adjacent wall of the house. If you stand under your roof’s overhang and look up, you will stare directly at the soffit, provided that your roof has one. The soffit actually plays an important role in preventing moisture damage to a roof as well as the house it sits upon.
Q. What are seamless gutters?
A. Having seamless gutters simply means that there are no breaks in the gutters.
Q. Clogged downpipe/downsprout can cause what problems?
A. Roof will potentially leak, mould or mildew could develop, damage to the foundation and structure of the house, ceiling collapse, animal/bird/insect infestation, leaking inside walls and windows.
Q. Why metal roofing?
A. There are several reasons for choosing metal over conventional roofing products including asphalt shingles. By choosing metal roof, you will save money and do your part for the environment. Metal roofs provide beauty and protection for your home that can last a lifetime. Metal roofs now utilize reflective pigment technology, which results in overall home energy efficiency, and lower utility bills. In addition, all metal roofs are made from ~40 to 50% recycled material.
